The storyline revolves around the death of a good-natured man of a rather old age. The killer – Italian Collini – is silent about the motives, which slows down the completion of the investigation. In the course of the action, it turns out that in fact the old man is not a nice grandfather, but a Nazi, who personally gave orders for the executions of civilians, among whom was Collini’s father.

The son tried for a long time to achieve justice in a legal way, but the amendment that justified the accomplices of the crimes did not even allow the case to begin. There are no puzzles and riddles in the novel, but it gives readers food for thought: where is the fine line between justice and justice. This question was most often asked after the Second World War to the inhabitants of Europe.
