There are two films with this name. I’m talking about a 1990 painting by Martin Scorsese. This is a gangster saga (well, yes, this is my favorite genre, as you probably already guessed) about growing up and the life of Henry Hill – an aspiring gangster – and his accomplices. The main role was played by Ray Liotta, and his accomplices were brilliantly played by Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. The latter received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and in my opinion, all three played perfectly.

A movie about friendship, moral choice, a line, crossing which, you cannot go back. Serious, realistic, full of male friendship and gangster romance, the film.

Skirmish

And again a movie from the 90s. And again, the genius Al Pacino in the main role, accompanied by the equally brilliant Robert De Niro. These tough guys play enemies: a possessed police officer and a calculating criminal who will have to cross their weapons. Only one can survive.

This is not just an action movie about tough guys, but rather an intellectual and unhurried movie with some action elements. The case when there are two smartest heroes on the screen at once, capable of building their own game and outwitting the enemy. A real treat for the eyes and brain.

Gladiator

Could this selection have done without this movie? You know the answer. Excellent Russell Crowe as heroic Maximus and genius Joaquin Phoenix as Emperor Commodus. Two strong characters, the confrontation of which can only end in death.

A movie about fortitude, about a character who will withstand severe hardships in order to see his loved ones. A beautiful and touching story about courage and love, for the sake of which you can endure any trials. One of the best films in the history of cinema.
