Eyebrows are the frame of our eyes, which determines how we will be perceived by others. They convey our emotions, and their form can radically change our appearance, both for better and for worse.
What not to do with eyebrows in 2021, says brow specialist Anastasia Frolova, creator of brow & makeup studio FROLOVA MAKEUP.
No clear boundaries
First of all, you need to forget about clear graphic lines in eyebrow makeup. Now the trend is the most natural makeup. And eyebrows are no exception. Obviously, in 2021, the fashion for grooming and the absence of clearly defined boundaries will continue.
Forget bright colors
Saturated colors in eyebrow coloring are also a thing of the past. Ask your brow-master to replace dense brow coloring with light hair and skin toning. This will help you freshen up your look. The same applies to self-shaping eyebrows – forget about dark pencils. Choose shades that are a color or a couple of shades lighter than your natural color of the hair roots and eyebrows.
Eyebrows and scissors are incompatible
Don't cut your eyebrows. Even though the brow revolution happened quite a while ago, I still see cropped brows on my new clients. This is absolutely impossible to do, since the hair naturally grows in length. When you cut it, it begins to thicken and grow in thickness. As a result, you will get hard, thick and poorly styled hairs.
Monochromatic eyebrows without a soft gradient – anti-trend
When drawing eyebrows, be sure to pay attention to the beginning of the eyebrow at the bridge of the nose. Here the color should be less saturated than in the rest of the color or even fade away. Remember, the dark beginning of the eyebrow makes the look heavier.
Get rid of heavy textures
Eliminate heavy textures from brow makeup, such as tints or pomades. They create too dense coverage. It is better to replace them with pencils or colored fixing eyebrow gels. So you can achieve a more natural and light effect. When doing make-up for models for shooting, I always pay special attention to density and textures, since the “ naturalness " of the final result depends on these indicators .
Do not attempt complex procedures on your own
Do not do long-term styling or lamination of eyebrows at home. Recently, I have increasingly come across advertisements for laminating compositions at home. Without knowing the scheme of work, the composition of such cosmetics and the possible chemical reactions inside them, you endanger your health! If the technology is violated, you can get a chemical burn and an allergy with Quincke's edema. Therefore, entrust the work with such complex compositions to professionals.
Follow the contour
Drawing eyebrows, going far beyond the contour of the natural shape of the eyebrows, has also become an anti-trend. And although wide, fluffy eyebrows are still in fashion, it is better to focus on your natural width. With long-lasting brow styling or setting gel, add width but keep it natural. Well, add procedures aimed at growing eyebrows into your daily beauty rituals. This can be massage and the application of oils or serums for hair growth. For example, usma oil or XLASH PRO serum is suitable.
The average lifespan of eyebrows is 100 to 120 days. During this time, the fallen hairs grow back. In cases where the eyebrows are shaved, it takes about a year to recover. This is quite a long time, so I highly recommend taking care of your eyebrows and their condition!
