The next step after installing the supports is the lower strapping of the vertical posts. For this, a bar with a section of 50×150 mm is used. The floor frame is carried out by mounting lags, which are located at a distance of no more than 45 cm from each other. This will allow the frame structure to support the weight of the wooden platform. The lags are attached to the horizontal strapping beams using angle brackets, after having drilled the mounting holes for self-tapping screws.

If there is little time, the fastest way is to install ready-made concrete blocks on the tamped pillow. More time will have to be spent if you fold the posts from bricks, even more – to pour them out of concrete. The distance between the supports should be no more than 1.5-2 meters. More specifically, it depends on the thickness of the timber from which you will make the strapping. Under a beam of 100 100 mm, the distance is 1.5 meters, under a metal profile pipe 60 60 mm can be placed after 2 meters.

When all the supports are installed and level (use pegs, stretched lace and a building level), waterproofing is laid on them. This is roofing material or roofing felt, rolled in two layers, or bituminous mastic, which is also impregnated twice on the surface. Then the lower harness of the gazebo is laid from a bar. It is hammered together with nails of at least 150 mm in length or connected with self-tapping screws for wood. For greater strength, corners are used (if you find reinforced ones – as in the photo – it will be great). Although the gazebo was originally built as a summer one, after a while most people decide to glaze it. Then a margin of safety is required.

Builders argue that any, even the smallest building, should be erected according to a project that takes into account the parameters and characteristics of the future construction. The arbor did not escape this fate.

First you need to decide on the form. The best option is a rectangle (better a square). This is the simplest form with which there will be no problems during construction.

Assembling the floor base

On the erected columnar foundations, which remained free inside the gazebo, logs from a bar are laid, as is the lower strapping. At their ends, they are attached to the strapping elements with corners and self-tapping screws. It remains only to lay the edged boards on top of the log and fix them with self-tapping screws.

There are gazebos with a floor, as well as gazebos mounted in an open area or an area where a concrete screed is made or paving slabs are laid out. If you build a gazebo just on the ground, especially a wooden one, then you need to take measures to protect wooden structures, especially in places that are in contact with the ground. If the gazebo is made of metal, then you will have to protect it from rust.

The construction of a gazebo with a floor involves the installation of a foundation. Basically, they are limited to a columnar foundation, which is made of brick or rubble, poured with concrete or mounted on foundation blocks. Alternatively, you can use large stones (boulders) and support the entire building on them, if available. Such a foundation is suitable for light, frame structures made of wood or metal. If the building is solid, made of brick, then it is unlikely that it will be possible to limit ourselves to the columnar foundation: it will be necessary to pour a concrete strip foundation, albeit in a simplified version. It is enough to deepen the foundation by 20-30 cm.

To lay out the tiles in the gazebo, you will have to fill the floor with concrete, but first having insulated the floor with foam plastic, for example, and also laying a layer of waterproofing. After that, you can lay tiles, moreover, frost-resistant floor tiles. At the same time, it should be done so that the floor extends beyond the gazebo by 50 centimeters and these 50 cm should be laid out with a slope so that moisture does not retain on the tile. If the gazebo is not closed, then the entire tile should have a slope. If moisture does not linger on the tiles, the tiles will stand for a long time.

Frameless options for gazebos

Frameless gazebos are capital buildings on a strip foundation, lined with bricks or foam blocks, lined with decorative tiles or artificial stone on the outside. Moreover, options for buildings can have both all walls to the ceiling, and several main walls (for example, two), and the rest of the gap (gaps) remains open. Such structures are distinguished by large capital investments. To build them, it is better to hire craftsmen or seek help from a construction company. If you do it yourself, then the construction of the gazebo can be delayed indefinitely.

If you plan to build a brick gazebo, then it is better to hire good bricklayers to lay out the gazebo frame with high quality. Then, you may not have to spend additional funds on finishing the building outside. The construction of a gazebo from a foam block will require external finishing. There are many finishing options. In this case, you will first have to align the walls and only then start finishing. Since capital buildings are intended for their operation in the winter, then they must be warm. Alternatively, you can build a wooden frame outside, insulate it with ursoy and sheathe it with siding.

After the final fixing of the racks, they are also fixed from above, mounting the upper harness. Technically, it looks the same as when installing the bottom trim. For reliability, metal corners should be used. This is especially important if there are no permanent jibs in the structure.

After the frame is practically assembled, they start laying the floorboards. They, like all wooden structures, are treated with antibacterial impregnation. For such purposes, impregnation “Senezh” or “Senezh-Ultra” is suitable. They differ from each other in that “Ultra” does not color the wood, but gives it a greenish tint. If the entire structure is covered with a dark stain, then the greenish tint will disappear and remain invisible.

After the boards are fixed with nails, it is better to paint the wooden floor, otherwise the wood will get dirty before the end of the construction. It is better to paint the tree outdoors with varnish or oil-based tinting paints. Moreover, these are not classic oil paints, but special compositions for protecting wood from atmospheric precipitation. These formulations are based on oil, to which protective elements and color pigments are added. As a result, the wood takes on a completely different shade, while retaining its texture.

Tying the structure in the middle of the frame

The middle strapping of the frame, in most cases, is simply necessary, since the frame is divided into an upper and a lower part, which is always (almost always) sewn up. The bars that should be installed are best secured with metal corners or make recesses for them in the racks, up to 25 mm in size, if the thickness of the bar is 100×100 mm.
