Chewing gum has become a part of human life.
Sometimes it happens that the gum gets into the scalp. It seems to be a trifle, however, it is not at all easy to get the gum out of your hair without damaging it.
Today we are going to talk about how you can get rid of chewing gum stuck on the hair on your head.
We offer several recipes that we have proven.
The point is to pour oil on a strand of hair with gum stuck to it.
It is very good to use a cotton pad. Soak the disc with any vegetable oil, and then blot the strand with chewing gum.
Once the gum is soaked in oil, which takes about 5 minutes, it will easily slide off your hair.
Next, you need to comb your hair with a comb with a fine comb.
This method can save both short and long hair.
Peanut butter and even essential oils are also suitable for this cleaning method.
This method works well if the gum is stuck on the ends of your hair. Add a few tablespoons of salt to a large pot of water and place in the freezer for an hour. The salt will keep the water from freezing and allow the water to cool as much as possible. Then, take out the pan, pour the water into the tub and place your hair there to freeze the gum. It will become hard and brittle and easily peel off the hair. An alternative is ice cubes. Just apply them to your hair and wait for the gum to freeze. Then wash your hair with shampoo.
The method of application is similar to the first one.
Don't forget to wash your hair with shampoo!
Another remedy you'll find in any kitchen is vinegar. It can be any – and apple, and wine, and rice. Any of them can cope with the task of getting rid of the hairstyle from a sticky lump.
The main secret of vinegar is that it acts as a solvent and breaks down the adhesion between the hairs and the sticky mass. Apply a rag dipped in vinegar to a section of hair, or dip your hair in a cup of this preservative.
Let the liquid penetrate well into the gum structure, then use your fingers or a comb to remove the gum from the hair.
The fat-containing remedy petroleum jelly is found in almost every home. It can also be used to remove gum from hair.
Prepare your hair.
Lubricate the gum, the hair around it, and the comb with Vaseline.
Having softened, the sticky mass will slide off the hair. Comb off the leftovers with a comb.
Rub a sufficient amount of starch into your hair smeared with petroleum jelly, it will absorb the fat.
Comb your hair with a fine-toothed comb to remove any starch and wash with warm water and deep cleansing shampoo.
Since petroleum jelly is a petroleum product, it is not easily washed off the hair. You cannot get rid of it with cold or cool water, it will become too viscous.
Turn on cold water and gently dampen your hair with gum, it should harden.
Turn on hot water to soften the gum.
Turn on the cold one again. Chewing gum, unable to withstand temperature changes, will begin to crack. Try to break it into small pieces and pull it out of your hair. If it did not work out right away, run another cycle of a contrast shower.
For all its simplicity, the method is not very convenient. If the gum is stuck closer to the scalp, then there is a high risk of scalding with hot water, or catching a cold after cold.
Apply toothpaste or hair mousse to the gum until it starts to peel and comb out. Now you know what to do if gum stuck to your hair!
Prepare a paste from regular baking soda: mix it in equal proportions with water. Apply it to the gum in your hair, wait until it dries. Use a comb to remove any remaining baking soda and gum, then wash your hair.
Mix equal proportions of lemon juice, water and conditioner (best for dry hair). Pour the mixture into a glass, dip a strand of gum into it, or apply to hair with a spray bottle.
Lemon reduces the adhesion between hair and gum. As soon as it begins to change its structure, soften – comb out the remnants with a frequent comb.
Saturate a cotton pad with Coca-Cola. Rub the strand until the gum softens and slips off your hair.
- Silicone hair spray.
It is usually used to combat brittle and split ends. But it can be used successfully to remove chewing gum from hair. Spray the gum and wait 1-2 minutes. After that, brush off the elastic from your hair and wash your hair.
Alcohol takes one of the first places in the speed of removing gum from the hair. Any strong alcohol will do.
Moisten the disc with liquid.
Use a disc to work well the place where the gum sticks. In just a minute, she should “get off” her hair.
Shampoo your hair.
After being applied to the gum, the varnish hardens together with the rubber, it becomes brittle and pliable, it is easy to break it into small pieces and remove.
For this method, you need a cotton cloth, which should be wrapped around the affected curl, and then walk over it with a heated iron. The heat will cause the gum to fall off the hair and stick to the fabric.
