Action and benefits
3D mesothread is a thread made from a material that absorbs in the body. Polydioxanone coated with a layer of polyglycolic acid is used as such a material. The principle of operation of 3D threads is that after being injected under the skin, they create a kind of frame that securely holds the tissues and gives them an ideal shape. In parallel with the reinforcing function, the threads perform a stimulating effect: the cells begin to intensively produce collagen and elastin. After 6-7 months, polydioxanone is completely absorbed and excreted from the body, while the ideal oval of the face is maintained for another two years. Then the threadlifting procedure is repeated.
If we compare mesothreads with gold and platinum threads, which are used for facelift, then the undoubted advantage of the first is revealed: mesothreads can be used with very thin skin, they do not shine through it even under direct lighting. Also a plus is the fact that the threads dissolve without a trace, without causing harm to health, do not create any discomfort.
Threadlift procedure has the following additional advantages:
-
Little injury.
-
The ability to eliminate serious aesthetic problems.
-
Fast holding.
-
Short recovery period.
-
Formation of an elastic framework from collagen and elastin fibers.
-
Absence of allergic reactions to the introduction of threads.
-
Preservation of microcirculation in the skin.
-
No traces after the procedure.
Threadlifting with mesothreads is a complex procedure, so it can only be trusted by cosmetologists who have undergone special training and can document this.
Indications and contraindications
The threadlifting procedure can be performed at any age if signs of facial skin aging develop. The indications for the procedure are:
-
The appearance of wrinkles on the face, around the eyes.
-
Sagging skin of the eyelids.
-
Flabbiness of the skin, including in the decollete area.
-
Change in the oval of the face.
-
Nasolabial folds.
-
Uneven skin texture.
Do not use 3D threads with severe sagging skin folds, with a hernia of the lower eyelid, if deep wrinkles have formed on the skin of a rough type. In these cases, patients are recommended to carry out other methods of correction.
Contraindications to the use of mesothreads:
- Pregnancy, lactation.
- Oncological diseases.
- Psychical deviations.
- Acute infectious diseases.
- Autoimmune diseases.
- Inflammatory processes on the skin caused by fungi, viruses or bacteria.
- Poor blood clotting.
- Tendency to form keloid scars.
- neurological diseases.
- Hypertension of the third degree.
Varieties of 3D threads
There are several types of mesothreads. Each type is used to solve certain aesthetic problems.
There are three types of 3D filaments on the market:
-
Linear. These are fibers with a smooth surface, their length is 2.5-9 cm. The desired size is selected depending on the area that is being corrected. Linear mesothreads are used to lift the neck, oval of the face, correct the shape of the lips, cheekbones, temples and forehead.
-
Spiral. Threads have the form of a spiral, they are able to stretch and take their original position. The length of the fibers is 5-6 cm, the material is used to rejuvenate the décolleté area, correct the contour of the chin, smooth out wrinkles in various parts of the face. This type of mesothreads is considered universal.
-
Needle. Notches are applied to the threads of this type, due to which the lifting effect is enhanced. Needle 3D mesothreads are used in combination with strong local anesthesia, as pain is felt when they are inserted.
The thread consists of two parts: a mesothread and a cannula with a guide needle for guiding the thread and modeling it. Each 3D filament is placed in a sterile package.
Threadlifting technique
Before threadlifting, you need to consult a cosmetologist. The specialist finds out if there are any contraindications to the procedure, determines the zones for the introduction of mesothreads, selects the exact number of threads and their length.
After the end of the preparatory stage , the procedure begins:
-
The patient puts a medical disposable cap on his head, lies down on the couch.
-
The face is cleaned of cosmetics, treated with an antiseptic, an anesthetic cream is applied.
-
The cosmetologist makes markings on the skin with a special pencil in order to accurately determine the places where mesothreads are inserted.
-
The doctor takes the thread out of the sterile package in front of the patient, inserts it into the subcutaneous fat layer, and gives the thread the right direction. In this case, the patient should not feel pain.
-
After installing the thread, it is disconnected from the needle, the needle is pulled out. The skin at the puncture site is wiped with an antiseptic.
-
The steps are repeated until all threads are inserted.
The whole procedure takes no more than an hour, the duration depends on the number of threads injected and the qualifications of the beautician. The patient receives recommendations on behavior after reinforcement: two weeks after the implantation of mesothreads, one should not sunbathe, go to the bathhouse and sauna; within two months it is impossible to carry out facial massage.
Possible Complications
After the introduction of 3D threads, slight swelling, discomfort, redness, inflammation at the injection sites may persist for the first few days. The cosmetologist usually warns the patient about this and recommends drugs that help combat the effects of reinforcement. A harmless and effective way to eliminate post-traumatic inflammation is a cream based on arnica – after a few days of using the drug, all discomfort disappears.
Unfortunately, there are more serious complications of threadlifting caused by insufficient qualifications of the beautician. These include the appearance of folds in the skin, the formation of bumps and seals. These complications do not go away even after resorption of the mesothreads, they require surgical treatment.
3D mesothreads are used not only to correct the face, but also to correct the shortcomings of other areas. With their help, you can improve the contours of the abdomen, thighs and buttocks. Threadlifting is successfully combined with mesotherapy, botulinum therapy, laser and chemical peeling, biorevitalization – these procedures help to maintain and prolong the achieved anti-aging effect.
