The degree of spiciness of South Korean cuisine is even higher than that of Mexican cuisine.<\/li>\n<li>A huge number of different sauces, especially soy.<\/li>\n<li>South Korean dishes do not need to be sweetened or salted, as the products already contain the required amount of sugar or salt.<\/li>\n<li>In this cuisine, not only heat treatment is important, but also lactic acid fermentation (kimchi). Lactic acid has a preservative effect.<\/li>\n<li>Incredible variety of food. Each village has its own subtle ways of preparing a particular dish, so even chefs can always learn something new when cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Much attention is paid to snacks. The same dish can be considered both an appetizer and a second course, depending on the recipe and the situation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>South Korean cuisine has other gastronomic features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Koreans are very careful and respectful about food. To foreigners, Korean dishes may seem extremely diverse and have nothing in common with each other, but almost all recipes have a spicy taste in common.<\/li>\n<li>Various establishments serve tiny dishes to start with. They include cabbage, small fish and algae. They are served in small plates before the main meal. Each table has a small stove, which the visitor himself lights up and fries the meat in this way, mixing it with vegetables later.<\/li>\n<li>One of the most important foods in South Korean cuisine is the octopus. Even live octopuses can be served at the table, which are then fried in a pan and poured with spicy sauce.<\/li>\n<li>In South Korea, street fast food is very developed. Rice, sausages in dough, various fried insects can be sold on the street. A special dish is fried cockroaches, which are eaten with a toothpick.<\/li>\n<li>An exquisite dish of South Korea is meat broths. Usually they are made from beef, which is considered a very expensive product.
