2010: “The Illusionist”<\/h2>\n

Animated Artist: a story about art dying with its head held high. And about a fragile love that grew out of faith in miracles. Cinema is a carnival of illusions; so what are the results of the decade without the “Illusionist”?<\/p>\n

2010: Flick<\/h2>\n

Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos is one of the major discoveries of the decade. And “Fang” is a demonstration of what he could do at a time when he did not think of his films as world films. Growing up in isolation, child heroes do not know the meaning of the things that surround them. And it turns out a paradoxical, scary, funny, impudent, sensitive movie about how reality trembles under the onslaught of words.<\/p>\n

2011: “Divorce of Nader and Simin”<\/h2>\n

The first (for us neophytes) swallow of the intellectual renaissance in Iran – and simply one of the most powerful films about the extinction and burial of feelings. It has long been established that this topic is subject only to select directors. Asghar Farhadi is one of them.<\/p>\n

2011: Melancholy<\/h2>\n

The film that set the mood for the entire decade, and perhaps for a whole generation of viewers, convinced that despondency has its own beauty, and depressive states can be revel in. Especially if you imagine yourself not as a person who needs help, but as a picture Ophelia – or at least Kirsten Dunst – in a shallow pond.<\/p>\n

2011: “The Tree of Life”<\/h2>\n

Either a transcript of conversations with God encoded in images, or a chronicle of the creation of the world filmed on a home camera. There is an untested theory that in the moment between life and death, instead of the light at the end of the tunnel, people see the whole film of Terrence Malick. Any.<\/p>\n

2012: Lincoln<\/h2>\n

The last immaculate Hollywood biopic and sadly the last great Steven Spielberg film. 2012: “Love”<\/h2>\n

Old age is a theme that will charm the European cinema of the tenth years: the same Jean-Louis Trintignant from “Love” in 2019 will be an encore on crutches in the third part of “Men and Women”. But Haneke's film about two quivering old men has a magical effect on those to whom it seems to be not intended – even on a young audience, which is more appropriate to watch “The Fault in the Stars” or “La La Land”.<\/p>\n

2013: “Life of Adele”<\/h2>\n

With all due respect to The Joker, comic book adaptations won at major film festivals in the world and before him: Adele's Life is an adaptation of the European graphic novel Blue is the Warmest Color. Particular attention is paid to the growing up of the protagonist, who at the time of the beginning of filming was 7, and by the end – 18 years old. Such a technique is visually so realistic that the picture is perceived by the viewer as something very personal.<\/p>\n

Moonlight (2017)<\/h2>\n

Without looking, many considered Moonlight to be a curtsey towards tolerance. But the description of the life of minorities is not at all the main idea of \u200b\u200bthe film, but rather just a scenario condition. In fact, the picture talks about love, growing up and understanding. As a result, we are faced with not a crusade against society, but a multifaceted drama about the formation of a person. This is what justifies such an impressive number of festival awards and nominations.<\/p>\n

PS And even here he was ahead of La La Land, which is only 23rd on the list.<\/p>\n

The tree of life (2011)<\/h2>\n

The picture skillfully balances between a biblical parable and the drama of a traditional family, intertwining in the narrative both everyday problems and eternal existential questions about the nature of man and God. But the experts appreciated not only the philosophy and symbolism of the film – the unusual visual part is also not lagging behind: from the magnificent acting of the actors we are now and then transported to the beautiful and unhurried world of nature.<\/p>\n

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)<\/h2>\n

After most of the truly dramatic auteur films on the list, it's pretty weird to see this blockbuster, especially in the top. But he was rightfully in his place – exactly a quarter of all respondents put him on a pedestal. The Fury Road turned out to be steep in all respects. Especially worth noting are the well-written images, talentedly embodied by the actors: even the minor characters look no worse than Max himself. The action turned out to be so strong that after watching, almost any viewer has the feeling that he was running somewhere quickly, but stopped abruptly to put his thoughts in order.<\/p>\n
