Frequent severe stress can cause a consistently high level of androgens (the body is constantly in a state of &#8220;alert&#8221;).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Determination of hormone levels<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Testosterone levels are determined in vitro by analyzing venous blood.<\/strong> One of the most accurate methods is <strong>electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA)<\/strong>. The unit of measurement is <strong>nanomole per liter<\/strong> (nmol \/ L) or nanomole per gram (nmol \/ g). <strong>Preparation for the procedure consists in refusal of food and drinks<\/strong> (except water) <strong>before taking blood<\/strong>. Since the biomaterial is handed over in the morning (preferably before 10:00), <strong>the abstinence time will be 3-4 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Total and free testosterone are of diagnostic value. The average rate of testosterone in men (the total amount of the hormone in the absence of serious pathologies) is <strong>from 12 to 33 nmol \/ l<\/strong>, <strong>free &#8211; from 4.5 to 30.4 pg \/ ml<\/strong> (picograms per milliliter), <strong>bioactive &#8211; 3.5-12 nmol \/ l<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>free testosterone index is<\/strong> also measured <strong>, defined as the ratio of the amount of unbound hormone to the volume of circulating globulin<\/strong>. For each, the answer is &#8220;yes&#8221; or &#8220;no&#8221;, after which you will see the result.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The test is not 100% accurate.<\/strong> Question number 5, with a positive answer, most accurately characterizes a decrease in testosterone levels.<\/p>\n<h2>Rate and deficit<\/h2>\n<p>Normally, the level of hormones in the body of men is higher than that of the female half of humanity, on average 20 times. Therefore, their body feels more negatively with testosterone deficiency.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Its highest level is in the morning hours. This can be understood if a blood test is done at this time. During the day, the amount of the hormone decreases by 10-13%.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>How much testosterone should a man have? Optimal amount: 11 to 33 nmol \/ L. The female body also has a hormone, but the norm is from 0.24 to 0.27 nmol \/ l. Their hormone levels show the strongest fluctuations during ovulation and in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
