Sometimes it is enough to put foam rubber under it or put a “system” on the carpet.

The system unit should be in an open area to avoid restricting the air flow to the fans.

Clean your computer from dust

Open the case, take a vacuum cleaner and dust off all boards, fans, video cards.

Caution! Do not touch the components of the system unit with the vacuum cleaner.

If there is no vacuum cleaner, then you will have to act with a soft brush and even blow out the system unit by drawing air into your mouth. It is not safe, because there are many carcinogens in computer dust.

Tightening the fixing screws

Vibration and noise can also be reduced by tightening the mounting screws inside the system unit.

To do this: open the cover of the system unit, remove it and tighten the screws for the power components, drive, motherboard and fan.

Be careful when tightening, you can twist.

Vibration reducing pads are purchased from a store and fitted to vibration sources (see quote).

The main source of noise in a PC is often the power supply. Such devices require powerful built-in fans that grind a lot of air.

Replacing the power supply with a quieter one can significantly reduce PC noise.

The designs of these devices may vary, but most simply have larger fans that spin more slowly to transfer the same amount of air. There are models with thermal sensors, where the fans speed up or slow down depending on the temperature inside the case. The main thing when buying a fan is to make sure that its power matches the cooling needs.

The fan of the standard cooler purchased with the computer is likely to make too much noise. Most coolers have a large and efficient heatsink on which a quieter fan can be installed.

If, after all the tweaks, the PC still makes more noise than you would like, try taking more serious measures – install special sound-insulating foam pads inside the case.

The installation procedure is simple: the gasket is cut to fit the inner surface of the enclosure wall, the protective film is removed and the gasket is glued to the enclosure.

… For hard drives, special soundproofing shells are used.

However, when performing this operation, it should be remembered that foam rubber and other gaskets not only drown out the sound, but also impair the heat dissipation from the case, and therefore they should be used in moderation, carefully following the installation instructions.

Change the fan speed.

To do this, you need to use the SpeedFan program.

Start the program and look at the temperature values on it.

Give the computer maximum load, for example, play a little resource-intensive game or turn on a movie. Observe the temperature readings.

Remember the temperature during load and start alternately changing the fan speed. The best place to start is 85%. You should find a fan speed where the temperature will not rise and the computer will run much quieter.

Based on materials http://citforum.ru/hardware/articles/comp_noise/

Post source: lastici.ru

The main sources of noise in a computer are motors and rotating parts such as the hard drive, chassis, processor, and power supply fans.
